On November 11th, 1889 you became a State.

And on this, your 121st birthday, I have something to tell you:

I love you, Washington.  There.  I said it.

Where else can you:

explore the lush wilds of a rainforest

spend the night in a tree

summit a glacier

witness the beauty of the high desert

 take a ferry almost anywhere

explore the seedy underbelly of an old port town

all in the same state?

Happiest of birthdays, dear Washington State!

I can't believe I lived in the State for 13 years and with kids in school there and never knew that. And if you asked me when Oregon's B.Day was I wouldn't be able to tell you either and I love OREGON. Now I just feel bad, I don't know her B.Day :(

I love the Olympic Peninsula! On my list to visit again :)

    Have a lovely day, T. :)

I adore Washington State. It is my spiritual home - as soon as I arrived it was as if I'd always lived there and I hope to live long enough to retire there some day. It is the best of the best - from people to nature to activities. l-o-v-e!

    xoxo,
    Carrie

I've only been a couple times, but I loved it. I hope I go to Sasquatch this year!

I really do need to visit Washington more. Snowboarding or surfing may be in order (I don't really do either).

If you're ever in Vancouver, I hope you'll say hi!
