I have a lot of catching up to do.
But until I get that sorted,
have a photo of the most delicious cupcake ever.
{ what's your poison today? }
During the insanity that is this week,
I like to reflect back on what a lovely weekend it was...
...sailing lazily across the bay...
...wandering around town....
...eating my weight in various street noms.
I'm going to pretend I'm still there, ok?
{ how's your week goin'?}
Guess who went to the fabric store this weekend?
I've been working on some new things for an insane ambitious attempt at a craft fair this weekend.
Could someone please add a few extra hours to the days this week, please?
Kthnxbai.
{ what are you workin' on? }
It's hard to believe, but I got a little sun burned this weekend.
We finally hit a lovely mid 70s summer day,
and the hubbers and I spent the whole thing hanging out on the patio.
The girls were pretty jealous.
Speaking of silly kittehs....
...have you seen this??
It kills me!
{ how was your weekend? }
I told ya I was working on new things.
Now...to photograph
(stop raining Seattle plz kthanxbai) .
{ how was your weekend? }
...have a friend come visit.
This is what I've been up to.
I think I have a problem.
{ did you have a tastey weekend? }
This weekend Panda and I went to Etysrain's Spring Craft Show.
We showed up early enough to score sweet swag bags...
...and then loaded up on delicious sugar snacks from ThisCharmingCandy.
I may have also made a similiarly awesome pillow mine....
( There was plaid involved. I can't be held responsible for my actions. )
I happened to catch it just at this moment.

Pssssssssst! - anyone interested in doing some guest posting here? i'm looking for posts for next friday, monday and tuesday. holla at me ---> bugmiscellany@gmail.com if you're down!
Right now we're averaging one nice day per week.
At least it's falling on the weekends.
We took full advantage on Sunday and hiked halfway up West Tiger 3.
I'm pretty sure I have a little sun burn today.
Totally. Worth it.
We stumbled across this tiny waterfall at the best time of day.
A an hour earlier or later and we'd have missed the gorgeous sunlight bouncing off the water.
Silly hubbers.
{ any adventures this weekend? }
Saturday was the most gloriously perfectly sunny day.
We couldn't put off redoing the garden any longer.
Before.
That's one dead tree.
And three hours later...
After.
Ok, so it doesn't look like much.
But at least we replaced all the dead things, with non-dead things (at least for now).
Plus...colors!
Later, because I was unwilling to give up even the last little shred of sunshine,
we had a bananagrams fest on the patio.
I lost, btw. How can you LOSE when playing "velociraptor?" Arrrgh!
(F, indeed.)
Have you ever played this game? It's aMAZing!
The hubbers winning hand.
Xenophobe? Really? He is so damn clever.
( Sorry for the posting delay. This week has started out INsane. )

We were bitten by the Spring spruce up bug this weekend.
And that bug said: "you need patio furniture."
What would you think the odds are all this would fit inside a Toyota Camry?
If you guessed "pretty good," then you are the winner !
(and have a lot more faith in the hubbers tetris skills than I.)
And 'some assembly required' later...
... the finished product!
I've got big plans to live outside this summer.
Now, if only the weather would cooperate...
{ how was your weekend?}
Super. Great. Weekend.

My brother sent me a sweet little box of macaroons from Paris.
Pretty sure I've got the best brothers ever, sorry.
Then...otters!

I really hope I get reincarnated as one.

End the day with a stroll through the market, and you've pretty much got an excellent day on your hands.
Plus, almost NO RAIN. Gasp!

We had this great idea to go geocaching this weekend.

After a few missteps, a little pen forgetting and general frustration with my gps space machine, we ended up in the complete middle of nowhere.

It was a totally beautiful slice of nowhere, and it's really neat to feel in utterly forgein territory only 20 minutes from home.
We never did find a cache...

...but doesn't this tree look like it has a face??

Happy Birthday, kittens!
Last week the wild and elusive Maxine Louise made an appearance on the blog.
This week, it's Fiona Marie's turn.
She was pretty much the teeeeniest kitten ever!
From the start she's been the lead investigator in our house.
Got a book that needs sniffing? She's on the job!
One of her hobbies is to attempt to smash her face inside this toy,
and push it all around the house.
Plus, look how tiny!
As you can see, tiny Fi has pretty much stayed, well, tiny.
We estimate she weighs half of what Max weighs.
But for someone so tiny, she sure has a lot of rules:
- You may pet the Fi, but you may not pick her up.
- You may retrieve the Fi's toys from inside the pantry, once she meows and meows and meows.
- You may repeat the above action.
- You may not act surprised when the Fi bites when she is done with you. You have been dismissed.
We tell her she's lucky she's so cute.
Happy Birthday, little bears!
{ do you celebrate your pet's birthdays? }
Pssst! - Thank you all for your kind words about our little Julio. It's been really hard on my mom, but we have 17 years of wonderful memories to look back on. He had a really good, long life.
Another one of those weekends - nothing special but so productive.
Helpful Max woke me up at 5:30am each day, so I had lots and lots of time to get things done.
I updated the shop a bit....
...went to the most amazing rock shop...
...and watched far too many Dr. Who episodes while knitting hugebungous amounts.
(yep. i'm like the uber nerd.)
{ what did you do this weekend? }
As my cats thunder around the house,
I'm starting to realize they aren't tiny little kitten-shaped babies anymore.
*tear!*
They turn one at the end of this month!
Look how little Maxine Louise started:
And today,
Omg.
Her hobbies include:
taking naps tangled up in the curtains,
knocking things over,
and being a chubby bunny.
Sometimes I think this is all that's going on in her brain:
but she's still my big snuggly sweetheart.
She's definitely the baby of our family.
{ what kind of personality does your pet have? }
The first day of spring turned out to be the perfect time to head back out into nature.
And it didn't even rain!
Federation Forest State Park runs along the White River - only about 20 miles east of our home.
Beautiful rocky shoreline runs right up to the mossy, dense forest.
Geology nerd alert!
What do you suppose this is all about?
Nature humor.
{ how was your first day of spring (or fall) ? }
