This weekend we decided to visit a place we had (ashamedly) never been to before: Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. It was a lovely day, and we had a great time (and also realized, strangely, that in our 9 year relationship we'd never once been to a zoo together).
Anyway, here's some of the marvelous mammals (and etc) we saw.
Harbor seals (swimmin' upside down, naturally).
omg!
Baby tigers!!!!
Big ol' walrus.
Clouded leopards (just hangin' around).
Eagle owl (weighing in at 4.5 lbs!).
'Recycled' boat sunk to the bottom of the fishy tank. (Wish I had that kind of recycling to do.)
The wild and elusive hubbers. Seen here in his natural environment.

Happy Fashion Friday, all! I have two wwKw upcoming posts, but in the meantime, may I present my uber spendy finds. These are the things I'd love to own, if I had all the money in the world. (Sometimes it's fun to dip your toes in these pricey waters - even just vicariously.)
{ if I were Rockefeller...}
( And yeah, admittedly it's a little bonkers of an outfit. I went a bit overboard. : P )
PS - I'm in the middle of swapping out computers at work (and apparently, kind of breaking them too), so bear with me as I work to catch up in the blog-o-sphere.

I don't know if Portland grows amazing artisans, or just collects them, drawing them from other places around the world, but I do know this: this town is teeming with talent.
Here's a smattering of awesomesauce, PDX style.
I was lucky enough to see these in person at the Urban Craft Uprising show this summer. They. Are. Amazing. This is perhaps the most amazing-est one of them all! Look at those fishies!!!
So clever. So creative. So true. The hubbers has serious beard-envy living out here in the PNW.
She had me at "facebroidery." Such a cute way to envision a traditional embroidery hoop.
As I'm sure you already know from reading her awesome
blog, T is an accomplished nature photographer. I gravitated towards this beautiful photo for its dazzling array of colors. I may not know what all those thingys are for, but they look so darn cool!
At first glance, I just thought this was an adorably silly little journal. I mean, who cooks for rabbits? And then I realized (i.e. READ the description) that it's actually a handy, fully illustrated vegan cookbook! How cool is that?
{ do you have PDX love? }

I envy the editorial hands that curated these gentle treasuries. It takes a soft touch to present something so lovely.

Happy Monday all. My internets were down ALL weekend (grrrr!). It was so hard to be unplugged, but honestly, it was so stifling h-o-t in my house, I'm not sure how much I'd have gotten accomplished anyways...
This weekend's (non-internetty) goals included:
1. Get some much needed stitchery done. A little preview of something new, I'm so terribly excited about this new project. : D
2. Try to keep the kittens from suffocating in the 95+ degree weather. It must be tough to wear a fur coat when it's so hot out.
3. Attend a lovely outdoor wedding on Sunday. Hubbers looks far too pleased with himself here.
And since I failed at Fashion Friday, here's a look at what I wore to the wedding. I think it's funny to note, since I'm way short, and this dress is way short, it's entirely possible it's actually a shirt, and not a dress at all.
Whoopsies.
PS - I'm so happy to read your responses to this
post. And here's the answer to a couple of queries:
#7 I am not sure what to get yet. I have a couple of ideas, but I'm so not going to rush into anything here. I mean, it took me 3 years to talk myself into a navel piercing (now gone).
#8 for my dear international readers, "guns" refers to one's arm muscles. Typically stated while flexing and air kissing one's bicep. I used to have decently toned arms, but it's fallen to the wayside.
#9 I have no idea where I'm going to go yet. Suggestions?
{ so now that we're caught up...how was your weekend? }

Now that I'm rounding out my twenties, there are some things I want to accomplish before diving into the great big beyond that is....thirty.
It's hard to compile a list like this - to boil down what you hope to achieve into a 30 line summary. And so I give you the first part now, while I marinate on further additions.
{ "the" list }
- ride a motorcycle
- visit Vancouver, B.C.
- have a functional, organized workspace
- take a vacation with the ladies (sorry hubbers)
- understand GoogleAnalytics
- visit all 50 states (three to go!)
- get a tattoo
- get my "guns" back!
- take a solo road trip
- learn to use my grandma's sewing machine
The rest to follow...
{ what's on your list? }

No theme. No rhyme. No reason. Just pretties.
Enjoy.
I wonder if the lamb comes with... A great use for an interesting light fixture.
"thermos pillow cover - orange on yellow roses" by coucousalut
I love this print, because I love the look of vintage thermoses but am way, way too scared to drink out of one.
It's wee. Reason enough for me to love this little journal. Methinks I need a new one...
I love the color and texture of this tote. So unusual!
L-o-v-e. Love the color, that it's hung wide instead of long, the contrasting edge. Love. It.
{ you likey? }
ps - day 3 of unending headache = concise blog post. apologies. words, many of them, later. : )
