The one and only time it's cool to work at an office building in Bellevue.

blue angels

The Blue Angels are in town for Seafair weekend, and during
 the week they shut down I-90 and fly their practice formations over Lake Washington.

And we get to stand on the roof of our building and watch them go by.

{ have you seen the Blue Angels? }

Thank goodness overcast days look like this here.

elliot bay

Otherwise I think I'd have lost my mind by now.

{ are you a fan of moody skies? }

It's been a long time since I've updated my Etsy shop.

But I'm working on it.  I swear.

{ what are you workin' on today? }

My dear friend sure planned her trip correctly.

blue skies & rock candy
check me out on tumblr if you're curious where this photo was taken!

Four out five of her days here were filled with sunshine, blue skies and warm weather.
It's pretty much been crap since she left.

{ did you steal the sunshine? }

Psssst ! - I still need one more lovely blogger for an upcoming guest post series.  Hit me up here bugmiscellany@gmail.com  if you're interested.

Random from last weekend.

Too bad there's no sunshine on the books for this one.

Sigh.

{ tgif, amirite? }

Psssssst! - anyone interested in doing some guest posting here?  i'm looking for posts for next friday, monday and tuesday.  holla at me ---> bugmiscellany@gmail.com if you're down!

I see some funny stuff while out on the road.

And to answer your question, no I definitely did not stop here
and have a malted for dinner, as opposed to real food.

.....

{ see anything good lately? }

For their birthday my Mom sent the kittens a box full of toys.
(I know, so spoiled right.)

She also sent the Catsitter DVD collection.
It's footage of birds, mice, butterflies and the like, flitting across the screen.

I was skeptical at first...

tv junkie

...but it totally works!

Fiona doesn't seem to care for it, but the second we pushed play Max was hypnotized.

couch potato

I think we've created a monster.

{ does your pet watch TV? }

Ha ha, oh, Fiona....

lazer cat

Lazer cat desires your soul!

{ what's your lol of the day? }

Look what came in the mail this week!

Can't.  Freaking.  Wait.

Just a little taste:

{ what's making you happy today? }

A day to be reflective.

I didn't get a chance to post this in time,
but in case you're wondering what's going on in the blogosphere today, go here.

{ what are you thankful for today? }

What a strange thing to wake up to.

A tsunami advisory for the entire coastline.
Stay safe, all you beach dwelling folks.

My heart goes out to the people of Japan, as they recover from this devastating event.

{ what are you thankful for this Friday? }
i'm quite glad to live inland today.

Psssssst! - for more photo friday, go here.

It's been a bizarre week in weather here in the PNW.

But you know how the saying goes:

if you don't like the weather...

...wait five minutes.

{ what's it like where you are? }

Will this insanity never end?

We only got three inches, but the frickin' frackin' frigid temperatures kept the roads nice and icy.
(Allilteration win!)

It's beautiful.  But....so...cold.

Look who's so unimpressed.

{ what's your Friday look like? }

Since I've neglected you all horribly this week,
I think you deserve an awesome internets treats.

(Sorry bout the commercial.)

I am so freakin' frackin' glad it's Friday.

{  how about you? }

I had maybe a little too much fun editing photos with Picnik.

It was another glorious week to be on the road.

I love my new commute home.  I drive straight up into the mountains.

This time it was like driving up into fluffy orange marshmallow clouds.
(Is it weird that I had a serious joy buzz from driving?  Probably.)

I think for a little while, I'm going to be swapping my semi regular "Fashion Friday" posts for "Photo Fridays."
I love doing wwKw's and other fashion posts, but unfortunatly they require an amount of time I just can't devote at present.

 They WILL be back, though.

And when that happens, I'll host another Virtual Fashion Show to celebrate.  Stay tuned, fashion junkies!

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy pics from my weekly travels!

{ what's on your plate today? }

I'd like to try something new.

I made this treasury today.

I'm really digging this color palette, and I want to make an outfit inspired by it.

Pastels/muted colors are not ordinarily my friend.  But I'm longing to try something new, and I'm not really sure what to do.

So here's where you come in.
Link me a piece of clothing, accessory, shoe (whatevs) in the comments section, that you think picks up the vibe of this treasury.  I'll come back later on, and build an outfit.

I need your help, friends!

{ will you help me out?}

Not long ago, Tsuki shared the most amazing new website she'd discovered.

And now I'm totally obsessed.

Meet "i want to be her!" (dot com).

The co-founder of Lucky magazine, and her talented ilustrator bestie teamed up to create this simply awesome site.  Read all about it here.

Sometimes interviewing up and coming fashionistas, and other times profiling amazing looks off the street (or subway, restaurant, what have you), the outfits are always interesting and inspiring.
( Plus, they link you back to where you can buy everything to recreate the ensemble! )

I'm getting lots of great ideas.....

{ subway girl's my fave - what do you think? }

My dear friend Monica recently sent in a wwKw request for these cute shoes.  She wanted some suggestions as to how to wear them with her more casual wardrobe.
(did you know Polyvore has backgrounds? weird ones? i had a little too much fun yesterday....)

You can't hide from me, monicuddle: I know you own a basic black dress.
PS - a dress can be casual. especially when you're hanging out on a giant chess set.

{ how would you wear these shoes? }
