My dear friend Monica recently sent in a wwKw request for these cute shoes.  She wanted some suggestions as to how to wear them with her more casual wardrobe.
(did you know Polyvore has backgrounds? weird ones? i had a little too much fun yesterday....)

You can't hide from me, monicuddle: I know you own a basic black dress.
PS - a dress can be casual. especially when you're hanging out on a giant chess set.

Happy Fashion Friday all!

This week's wwKw features a beautiful vintage dress purchased by my lovely friend, Tania.  The ruching detail along the bodice is just amazing!

I'm shaking things up a bit around here.  This time I've chosen to style this gorgeous dress for two different seasons.

This week wwKw is coming to you a little differently. I've been wanting to experiment with the website Polyvore of which I've heard so much.  So this week I've designed an outfit I'd love to buy from head to toe.

{ outfit for an autumn day }
earrings: amazon
dress: modCloth
shoes: zappos

I do have a question for Etsians and other independent artisans:  How do you feel about someone importing one of your images (with link to your site embedded) to Polyvore? I deliberately avoided doing so until I had some general consensus as to how the community in general might feel about it.  Otherwise I certainly would ave selected a little more diversely on a couple of these items. :P  I'd love some input!

{ whaddya think? }

ps - don't forget: I'd love to make up a wwKw post just for you!  Send in your ideas, or leave a comment below.

This week's wwKw is a request to style this dress  for the lovely Panda, who's having quite the fashion crisis for an upcoming September wedding. This dress is one contender.

This is easily the most challenging dress I've yet to style. I love the vibrant royal blue color, but it made it tough to piece together three very different looks.

Well, c'est la and what not. Here is what I came up with:

{ sophisticate }

earrings: ilexiadesigns
wrap: modCloth
clutch: Upstyle
shoes: modCloth

{ sweet }

 earrings: PookieandPierre
 clutch: nordstrom
shoes: modCloth

{ sassy }

paisley jacket: anthropologie
gunmetal shoes: Zappos

{ how would YOU wear this dress? }

A few weeks ago, Krystal commented on this wwKw, asking my opinion on harem pants. Weeeell, to be perfectly honest, I've never in life considered wearing harem pants. But I did decide to do some research. And what did I find, to my complete surprise...CROPPED harem pants! Even us shorties can wear these! So here are my three interpretations on how to wear yourself some cropped harem pants.

The focus of this week's { what would Kelli wear } is this pretty little salmon dress from Anthropologie. The question: What color shoes (other than silver) would 'go' with this dress? I had so much fun searching for shoes, that I decided to once again, style three entire different outfits.

{ which outfit would *you* wear? }

The subject of this week's "what would Kelli wear" is this lovely Jean Paul Gaultier for Target mustard halter dress. My good friend managed to snatch one up before they sold out, but ran into shoe trouble. She emailed for help finding navy blue peep toe shoes that could pull double duty: paired with this dress for a wedding, but would also look smokin' with jeans, to snazz up her daily work attire.

( Also: disregard the AWFUL faux tattoo shirt shown here. There are NO images of this dress from the front without that hideous garment. Apparently SOMEone over at JP's team thought this look was the shizz, but I just can't stand it! )

{ Here's what I found }

Admittedly less "navy" and more "royal" blue, this perhaps one of the only variations on the gladiator sandal I've been drawn too. Even though it's not quite what she asked for, I think this color would look unexpected and fun against the mustard yellow. (And also, stylish navy shoes are HARD to find this season!)

I am currently obsessing over the idea of "shooties" paired with a short dress. I love the edginess of the shape, and the unexpected little bows on the side.

The most casual I've chosen, these little wedges could serve as super versatile summer staples. Pairing them with jeans, however, might be a little to "denim dan," and so I guess I've failed that second qualifying factor on this one. Sorry, T. (But they'd look super cute with shorts. So there.)

Of all the pairs I've surfed through today, these are THE ones I'm currently lusting after myself. I love the shape of the heel, and the t-strap -- it all just screams "let's go DANCING!" to me, and really, what more can one ask out of a wedding shoe?
Just for fun, I've thrown in a 'wild card' pair, which complete disregard the navy blue requirement. They're just so dang cute! The plaid is a subtle nod towards the fall (since the aforementioned wedding is in September), while the bright turquoise keeps the outfit light and fun.

{  which pair would you pick? }

A few days ago I received an email from dear friend T, requesting advice on styling two different dresses she likes. And then she told me to blog about it. So here we find ourselves with a new, fun little experiment she titled "what would Kelli wear?"

It's no secret that I love color, and that I'm willing to pair some 'interesting' combinations together. Does this mean I'm capable of handing out fashion advice? I nunno. I wear what I like, what makes me happy, and often, what makes other people think I'm a little b-a-n-a-n-a-s. So T may love what I've put together here, or she may hate it, but it sure was a lot of fun to put together.

Without further ado, may I present scenario #1.

T loves this dress, but can't decide on an appropriate occasion to wear it. Too white for a wedding and too dressy for her office, she wants to know how to style this dress in a more casual, everyday wear kind of way.

I've done my best to create three different 'casual-ish' looks for this cute little baby doll number from ModCloth.

Take a look:

{ gal about town }
jacket: old navy

{ lady mendl's tea salon }
sweater: anthropologie
shoes: j. crew

{ to market, to market }
hoodie: j. crew

Stay tuned for scenario #2...
