Remember Polyvore?
I was quite obsessed for a little minute there.

Look what the intrepid hubbs discovered on his googlemachine last night.

If you're a huge nerd like me, check out the full range by clever Polyvore-er (  ...what?  ) ja-vy.

(Also on tumblr.  Remember tumblr?  Sigh.)

{ cool or too nerdy for you? }

I'm ready to rejuvenate my wardrobe for spring...

I'd like to try something new.

I made this treasury today.

I'm really digging this color palette, and I want to make an outfit inspired by it.

Pastels/muted colors are not ordinarily my friend.  But I'm longing to try something new, and I'm not really sure what to do.

So here's where you come in.
Link me a piece of clothing, accessory, shoe (whatevs) in the comments section, that you think picks up the vibe of this treasury.  I'll come back later on, and build an outfit.

I need your help, friends!

{ will you help me out?}

Not long ago, Tsuki shared the most amazing new website she'd discovered.

And now I'm totally obsessed.

Meet "i want to be her!" (dot com).

The co-founder of Lucky magazine, and her talented ilustrator bestie teamed up to create this simply awesome site.  Read all about it here.

Sometimes interviewing up and coming fashionistas, and other times profiling amazing looks off the street (or subway, restaurant, what have you), the outfits are always interesting and inspiring.
( Plus, they link you back to where you can buy everything to recreate the ensemble! )

I'm getting lots of great ideas.....

{ subway girl's my fave - what do you think? }

My dear friend Monica recently sent in a wwKw request for these cute shoes.  She wanted some suggestions as to how to wear them with her more casual wardrobe.
(did you know Polyvore has backgrounds? weird ones? i had a little too much fun yesterday....)

You can't hide from me, monicuddle: I know you own a basic black dress.
PS - a dress can be casual. especially when you're hanging out on a giant chess set.

{ how would you wear these shoes? }

All around me are black coats, brown shoes and the winter blues.

Nothing cheers me up like a fesitval of pigments.

{ jess from the mundane adventures of miss jess }

"I took this photo for a We Love Colors shoot, and I love the outfit. Layering, bright tights, big boots, wide belts... LOVE!" - jess

{ victoria from the moss garden }

"I tend to dress a little preppier than your average student and I like to wear things that are clean-cut, not too frilly or fancy, and most of my clothes are in blues or greens with a lot of brown leather. My sweater is from Roots, jeans from American Eagle, and riding-style boots by Aldo. This is pretty much what I'd wear on an average day to class, probably accessorized with some sort of animal-themed jewelry. :)" - victoria

{ cristie from the citybirds nest }

"i think i am pretty eclectic when it comes to personal style but i LOVE pattern and color and i am not afraid to wear bold patterns. i like a lot of styles from preppy, hippie, mod to grunge. i think the only consistent is that i love vintage so i always try to add a bit of a retro vibe to all my outfits from either adding jewelry or actually wearing a vintage piece." - cristie

"This skirt is my latest thrifting find. I paid less than $3 for it and it's REVERSIBLE!!! So, if you haven't already done the math, that's $1.50 per skirt. awe.some." - molly

{ monica from the captain's photolog }
"I have always been interested in fashion, but never really applied it to myself until recently. I've worked hard and shed some lbs so am now playing around with what my personal style even is. I think I've found it, but I'm still learning. I used to live in tshirts, jeans and hoodies but have since learned that a cardigan is a grown up version of a hoodie. also dresses are more awesome than I thought since they take no time to put on and POOF an outfit/look is born. My first priority is always comfort, but I now know that doesn't mean I have to look like a slob/college kid." - monica

{ shery from nevertheless }

" I love white!
Cropped white blazer – Dotti
White lace strapless dress with blush coloured lining – Dotti
Gold and blush bangles - Gloss" - sheryl

{ stacey (and baby Z) from design addict mom }

"We were at an annual Kentucky Derby party. The hat is by nine west and the dress is a brand called New Directions that i purchased at Belk. Baby Z is outfitted in Ralph Lauren baby(it's my favourite brand to shop for clothes for him). He's always my escort/companion everywhere i go and he always steals the show:-). I think i picked up the fashion jewelry at TJMaxx." - stacey

{ moi from here }

I'd like to say I have very "me" look, but mostly I'm a hodge podge.  I like retro influences, color (!), patterns, little dresses, big boots, high heels and statement jewelry.
This outfit is my $10 H&M cardi, Tucker for Target dress, belt from Jujubes (the best cheap clothes in seattle), H&M tights and Banana Republic boots circa 2002.  I felt pretty great in this get up (altho you can't tell from the photo - me no likee having picture taken!).

A hugebungous, ginormous THANK YOU to all the lovely bloggers who participated!  I had a lot of fun, and I hope you all did too.  And if you missed out this time, never fear!  We'll do this again soon.

{ now c'mon, tell me:  How freakin' stylish are all these awesome bloggers?! }

Psssst! Check out LittleGrayFox for the results of her Crafty Challenge.  There's always some fun stuff going on over there.

I am so excited for this Fashion Friday
So today we're gonna have a special clothing edition of crave + rave.  Etsy has tons of fabulous fashion finds.
(that's right - it's not just mustaches, owls and robin's egg blue cowls :P)

Here are a few of the things I'd love to have in my closet.

"Pretty Birdie's Bamboo and Organic Cotton Mini Dress" by stephanieteague

I would wear this entire look, head to toe.  The color, the retro silhoutte, the big hair...I am all over this !

"cloke neck grey wool coat" by Lwangslife

Oversized collar?  Check.  Beautifl tweedy texture?  Check.  Knee grazing length? Check, check, check!  This coat's has it all.

"Row Dress by mydearthing" by mydearthing

I love the simple silhoutte of this dress.  It makes the delicate intricacies of the contrasting trim even more eye-catching and special.

"Hooded Plaid Jacket, Organic wool" by AlexKnitwear

Do we really need to talk about why I love this jacket?

"LMuse milk..." by LeMuse

Don't you just want to cozy up in this oversized sweater?!

Don't forget to send me your Look for our Virtual Fashion Show THIS Friday!  I've already received a bunch of photos, but as you know how the old saying goes, the more the merrier...

I'd love to get all submissions in by the end of today, but it's not like I won't accept them tomorrow too. : P I just need time to edit this monster post together, so don't wait 'til the last second, ok?

{ would you shop Etsy for your fashion needs? }

pssst! - clicky for to email me.

Things they are a-changing around here, in my "real" job anyways.  But never fear -- it's actually a good (even great) thing.  But it's upheaval.  And change.  And DETAILS.  blargh.

So today's Fashion Friday is coming to you in easily digested bite size form.

Remember this sweater?

Well it's on clearance now.  (You're welcome  : P .)

I am dying dying dying over these

Maybe they'd distract from my (now so obviously not intentional) two toned hair color?

Newest nail polish obsession:

I have big plans to get my nails did at their Seatac airport salon, when I fly out for an upcoming wedding.
(thanks to Katie for indoctrinating me.  : P  )

Don't forget to start thinking about your Look for our upcoming Virtual Fashion Show (stiiiiiiill needs a better name! ).

Get all the deets here.

{ happy friday all! whachoo up to this weekend? }

A bit of a bumpy start to the week here.  Things seem to be changing around me as quickly as the leaves, and I'm having a hard time keeping up.
(I'm reeally going to cherish the year that autumn doesn't bring drama drama drama into my life. I swear.)

This beautiful print lives here.

As promised, here's the deets on our first ever Virtual Fashion Show (which REALLY needs a better name. suggestions?) :

Send me a photo of an outfit that best captures your personal style by Wednesday, October 20th.

Include a little description of your look as well (if you like) and I'll post that and link back to your blog.

I'll post everyone's photos on Friday, October 22nd.
(So we all have time to get our creative juices flowing...and um, do the laundry. That sort of thing.)

Remember, it's not a competition, and it's open to everyone.

There's no panel of catty judges here, so fear not!  I'm not a fashion blogger, but I do love expressing myself through color.  Clothes are just another creative outlet for me.  And sharing your personal style is a great way to get to know a little more about each other, doncha think?

{ how have you been bloggy friends?  i've missed you! }

I've had this idea marinating in my head for a little while now.  And a somewhat ill fated expedition to the bookstore led me to discover the most amazing magazine, which only further cemented said idea.

First a little taste of

the only guide to the new season "

This is just a small slice of this amazing pull out section featuring looks from the runways of the most amazing international designers.

But it's these beautiful layouts highlighting some of the magazine's most loved collections of the season, that convinced me of this:

We should have a Virtual Fashion Show,
featuring outfits curated by YOU!

It would be awesome.  Don't you think?

I'd like to get an idea of how many of you lovely, fashionable bloggers might want to participate in such a thing.  I'll work out the details, and post all the information later.  So holla at me in the comments if you're interested!

{ so...how about it? you in?? }

Happy Fashion Friday!  I've been experimenting with a lot of new ideas lately, and I thought I'd play nice and share (especially since lots of your awesome blogs have inspired me!).

{ my new fashion loves }

After finally figuring out how to apply it, I am totally in love with the "cat eye" look.  (c'mon -- how smokin' are The Ronettes?!)

This isn't so much new, but my love of oddly colored nail polishes is growing deeper.  I must find this dark metallic green shade!

This is my nod to fall's animal print trend.  It's just a little touch (and it's something I already own : P), and I love the way it looks paired with plaid. (and we all know how I loves me some plaid.)  I've been wearing it nearly everyday.

Carrie's recent blog post inspired me to check out the new Tucker for Target line this week.  To my utter surprise, I fell in love with this little floral number.  I never wear florals.  But the punchy colors and tiny print had me.  I wore it on Tuesday, and I'm pretty sure it's love.
 (also note the wearing of ankle socks and pumps! two loves in one photo ... oh snap!)

In other Super Awesome Friday news:

LittleGrayFox is hosting a blog hop!  I'm always in the mood for new blogs, so this is a great way to scope some interesting reads.

Also, the wonderful and talented Meredith of OneSheepishGirl featured my shop on her blog!  Yays!

{ what are your new fashion loves this season? }

psssst! - just a few more days to enter my giveaway!

Tsuki of LittleGrayFox was kind enough to point out Etsy's new Treasury Challenge to me yesterday.  (You can read all about it here.)  OF course, I decided I must enter.  : P
