We interrupt your regularly scheduled "fashion friday" post, to bring you the results of
LittleGrayFox's Second Crafty Challenge. Visit her
blog to see all the super fun entries!
The theme was "A Little Birdy Told Me..." Here's my entry:
( It basically turned into "Mean Girls: Birdie Edition." )
It's handstitched felt stuffed with fiber fill, some embroidery, and polymer clay leafies. Oh also, you can't tell from the photos, but I ran wire through the branch, so the limbs are pose-able!
I'll be posting an entry for one of my dear pals who's on vacation right now (jealous!), but I'll be back a little later today with a FASHIONy challenge post. : D
{ happy friday, mes amies! }

It seems time to present the next installment of my "30 before 30" list....because last night I achieved one of them! It was just the motivation I needed to pull this out of "edit post" mode.
( for my new readers: HI! this is a continuaton of this post.)
11. take another painting class
12. pull out Elmer and shoot more large format photos
13. take up kayaking
14. learn to drive a manual transmission vehicle
15. get a product onto the Etsy Front Page
16. re-learn how to play the flute
17. audition for a community theater show
(eep!)
18. go indoor rock-climbing with the hubbers
19 take a snowboarding lesson
20. ride in a hot air balloon
Stay tuned for the final installement of "the list: 30 before 30."
(note: this photo has nothing to do with anything. i just really like it.)
{ Can you guess which one I can now cross off my list? }

Yep. It's raining. But that's not such a bad thing. Green grass. Greener trees. Clean air. Sometimes the rain can be beautiful.
(ask me how I feel about this by January...)
Wouldn't it be awesome if it rained different colors? The variety would sure be appreciated. Until then, I guess this pretty pattern will have to do.
Beautifully simple. I love the tiny dots that make up this delicate rain drop.
This illustration looks like it was plucked from the pages of a favorite children's book. I love it's retro-y feel (plus, duh, it's fun to splash in puddles).
"Elliott eau de cologne - oakmoss, pine, rain - SAMPLE" by sweetanthem
You know how I love a good perfume. And what's better than a fresh new scent? THREE fresh new scents. I am intrigued....
This is just too funny. This tiny little hat box stores inside a plastic rain hood (yep, just like Grandma used to wear). It's so kitsch-ly fabulous!
{ how does the rain make you feel? }

Aaaahhh...that's the sound of the end of a relaxing three day weekend
(or is it 'Waaaaahh!' ?). The hubbers and I did make it into the city for some shop hopping, where he ended up scoring better than I (
how did that happen?). It seems like I've become exceedingly picky picky picky about clothing these days.
I did walk away with these super cute little
ankle socks.
(I'm wearing the gray ones today with red heels! hello, fall. :D )
I think ankle socks will help keep my tights infatuation at bay, at least until the weather's a bit cooler.
I also snapped up this navy blue
sweater from American Eagle. I'm in love with the detailing!
PS - Target has some super duper soft plaid flannel shirts for a STEAL, but their stupid website won't let me grab a photo. Go
here if you're interested.
(I bought the red one and the yellow one...I just couldn't resist!)
We also went on a super touristy (but fun) tour
(more about that another day), painted an indecisive wall in our living room and rescued Fifi from a torn claw
(bloody paws looks about a BILLION times worse on a white kitty. frownfrownfrown!). Other than that last bit, it was a lovely and low key weekend.
{ how was yours? }

Happy three day weekend to all my American readers !
And you know what that means - Labor Day sale shopping ! The hubbers and I are planning to head into the city this weekend, so I've compiled my list of must-sees, to update my fall wardrobe.
( Lists = faster shopping = less whining. I'm sure you all know how this goes. :P )
Just a
few of the
pretties I plan on browsing at
Anthropologie. I definitely need a good belt this season!
( have I mentioned we live in BFE, so an outing to anthro hasn't happened in like MONTHS. )
I seriously need some office appropriate
plaid. I think I can make this J. Crew top work with the right skirt.
Definitely going to have to check out
Nordstroms accessory
selections for fall. It's always been a great place to find inspiration
(especially since many of the 'me likees' fall wah-ay out of my budget).
10 to 1 odds I get left in Seattle. Who wants to give me ride home?? : P
{ so, what's on your plate this weekend? }
pssst! - I'll be back to posting on Tuesday. See you then !
